Hi Strawp

I have been using iplayer-dl script on a jailbroken iphone (2G FW 2.0) successfully.

Using the Cydia package manager, Ruby can be installed along with Mobile Terminal to run the script.

The real problem comes with playback. Videos cannot be launched from the command line.

My solution is a second bash script that wget's some info and programme jpg from the BBC's xml and then adds this to the library of a pre-existing 3rd party YouTube downloading and viewing app.

Then the saved programme can be watched locally and deleted as necessary.

Email me if you want more details.

Hi Fl3tch,

That sounds great! Join us in the IRC channel (we'll respond eventually) or contact Paul Battley who wrote the original Ruby script and maybe we can get a fully integrated solution for running iPlayer on the iPhone. I'd love to test this but I don't have the hardware, sadly.
